The club was started in early 2001 by Professor Papa Leguas. In the beginning it only had a few members but as the news of capoeira spread over the country more and more people have gradually joined, and now it has over 60 members.

We have training sessions on most days of the week, including a juniors class on Tuesdays just before the adults class. We train CAPOEIRA, but we also practice Maculele and Afro Dancing, which are also traditional Brazilian arts.

The group has recently acquired a new academy, (Click "New Academy" button for more info.) with space for large rodas and classes of all the brazilian arts. On Friday the 7th, 8th and 9th of May an international Capoeira event took place, with many reknowned masters attending, including the creator of our group Mestre Suassuna. (See "Batizado 2004" section for info.) The event lasted three days and concluded on Sunday with the official opening of our academy, displays of Capoeira from the Masters, and the Batizado, in which members of our group will recieve first and second cords. Our very own teacher also graduated to the cord of three colours, the Professor cord.
